Sports News] Napoli recently announced a coaching change, appointing Francesco
Calzona as their new coach. Calzona, who is also the coach of the Slovakia
national team, will now serve as the coach for both Napoli and Slovakia. This
makes Calzona the first coach in Serie A history to hold concurrent positions
as the head coach of both a club and a national team. It’s worth noting that
several renowned coaches in European football have had similar experiences in
the past. For example, Alex Ferguson simultaneously coached Aberdeen in the
Scottish Premier League and the Scottish national team from 1985 to 1986. Rinus
Michels coached Barcelona and the Dutch national team in 1974. Guus Hiddink
coached Chelsea and the Russian national team in 2009, Dick Advocaat coached AZ
Alkmaar and the Belgian national team in 2010, and Fatih Terim coached
Galatasaray and the Turkish national team while also being involved with the
Belgian national team in 2013.
