[Saba Sports News] Jack Leach, sidelined from the ongoing series in India due to a knee injury incurred while fielding in the first Test at Hyderabad, will now undergo surgery. Initially, the injury seemed minor, but it led to Leach missing the next two Tests and eventually withdrawing from the series. The recovery process has not progressed as hoped, prompting the decision for surgical intervention.
Leach explained to BBC Radio 5 Live that the injury occurred early in the match, affecting his performance throughout. The surgery aims to remove persistent swelling and facilitate a full recovery. With England’s next Test series scheduled for July against West Indies, and Leach not being part of the limited-overs teams, he will have ample time for rehabilitation ahead of the domestic and international cricket season.
Leach expressed his eagerness to return to cricket and find his rhythm post-surgery, looking forward to participating actively in the upcoming matches.
