[Saba Sports News] Peshawar Zalmi leg-spinner Arif Yaqoob created history on Monday, bowling the best-ever over in the history of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In the 13th match of PSL 2024, Yaqoob was given the task to bowl the penultimate over when Islamabad United needed 21 to win a run-chase of 202. With six wickets in hand and a set batter in the form of Colin Munro batting, Islamabad United were cruising towards the target.
However, Yaqoob weaved his magic around the Islamabad batters, taking as many as four wickets in the over. He dismissed Munro, Haider Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Hunain Shah, becoming the first bowler to claim four scalps in a single over in the PSL history.
As the leggie just conceded two runs in the over, Peshawar Zalmi came on top and eventually won the match by eight runs.
Earlier in the game, the Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam smashed a hundred, helping his side reach 201-run total with his 63-ball 111.
Peshawar have now won three matches on the trot and are placed third on the points table.
