[Saba Sports News] The Indian Premier League-bound New Zealand players will reportedly miss the upcoming five-match series versus Pakistan.
If reports are to believed, the Kiwis will honour their IPL commitments over international cricket. The T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played between April 13 to 24 in Lahore and Rawalpindi. These dates clash with the IPL 2024, a tournament where eight New Zealand cricketers will be participating.
Devon Conway (Chennai Super Kings), Daryl Mitchell (CSK), Rachin Ravindra (CSK), Mitchell Santner (CSK), Kane Williamson (Gujarat Titans), Lockie Ferguson (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Trent Boult (Rajasthan Royals), Glenn Phillips (Sunrisers Hyderabad) are set to grace the IPL stage, meaning their involvement in the Pakistan T20Is is unlikely.
Notably, in 2023, New Zealand went to Pakistan for a white-ball tour at the same time during the IPL because of which they played with their second-string side.
For the unversed, IPL 2024 will begin from March 22 with the opening clash of Chennai Super Kings versus Royal Challengers Banglore at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
