Sports News] Indonesian badminton legend and former Olympic gold medalist,
Taufik Hidayat, recently gave an interview in which he discussed the upcoming
Paris Olympics, scheduled to take place later this year. Taufik shared his
experience and provided guidance to Indonesian badminton players Anthony
Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie, who are expected to participate in the
Olympics. Taufik emphasized that while he can offer mental guidance, the skill
aspects are the responsibility of the men’s singles coach. He highlighted
Ginting’s experience of winning an Olympic bronze medal, which should serve as
motivation. Taufik expressed his hope that both players will achieve success in
the Olympic badminton events and encouraged them to treat this year’s Olympics
as their last and give their best effort. Taufik holds the distinction of being
the first Grand Slam player in men’s singles badminton, having won the Olympic
Games, Asian Games, World Championships, and Thomas Cup. Even after retiring, he
remains actively involved in the badminton world, focusing on nurturing new
players and promoting the sport.
