[Saba Sports News] Ex-India cricketer Manoj Tiwary recently extended his best wishes to Yusuf Pathan, who has ventured into politics and will be contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Baharampur in West Bengal for the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Among TMC’s 42 candidates, Pathan joins others including 1983 World Cup winner Kirti Azad in the political fray for the general elections.
Tiwary, now Bengal’s Sports Minister, shared a heartfelt message, reminiscing their time together at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and their achievements, including their IPL victory. He expressed his enthusiasm for Pathan’s new chapter and their shared commitment to work for Bengal under the leadership of CM Mamata Banerjee.

Both were teammates at KKR and represented India, with Tiwary recently retiring from first-class cricket and Pathan being remembered for his vital contributions to India’s cricket, including the 2011 World Cup win and KKR’s IPL successes.
