[Saba Sports News] Italian media outlet
formu1a.uno has reported that Ferrari is preparing to introduce an “EVO
version” of the SF-24 racing car at the Imola circuit in an effort to
close the gap with Red Bull Racing. It is stated that the upgraded components
for the SF-24 are ready, and the “EVO version” is currently
undergoing wind tunnel testing. Minor upgrades are expected to be implemented
in April, while significant upgrades will be announced at the Imola track.
Additionally, new aerodynamic kits, including new sidepods and a new floorpan,
are set to arrive in May and will also be introduced at Imola. It is worth
noting that at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, Red Bull’s RB19 featured a
smaller and flatter heat dissipation vent design, which proved beneficial for
improving the “undercut” effect. This design concept has since become
a trend followed by several teams this year. Ferrari appears to be following a
similar design direction to upgrade their racing cars. Some fans have jokingly
commented on whether Ferrari should continue to imitate Red Bull’s design in
the following year. They suggest that if Ferrari were to solely follow Red Bull
without making any progress of their own, they would be unable to surpass them.
