[Saba Sports News] The 2024 Swiss Badminton Open
is currently underway. After four days of intense competition, the Australian
women’s doubles pair Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu have successfully advanced to
the top four. Yu, the daughter of former Chinese national player Tang He Tian,
has attracted significant attention from the media and fans. During a
post-match interview, Yu discussed her Olympic aspirations. It appears that she
chose to take a year off from school in order to qualify for the Paris
Olympics. With only three stops remaining in the Olympic points competition, Yu
and her partner have already secured a place in the top 30. It is no longer
just a dream for them to secure tickets for the badminton doubles event at the
Paris Olympics. Yu calmly mentioned that she began competing for points in May
of last year. The consecutive competitions have allowed her to experience the
intense competition that awaits at the Olympic Games. Regarding the upcoming
Thomas and Uber Cup in Chengdu, Yu stated that she and her partner Mapasa will
serve as the first women’s doubles team for the Australian team. She also
expressed her desire for her mother to come and watch her play in Chengdu.
