As revealed by Menaria, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) took his hamstring injury lightly. The RCA even accused him of faking his injury, which happened be the boiling point, leading him to decide to end his stint with Rajasthan.
“Last year, I picked up a hamstring injury. I think they (Rajasthan Cricket) should’ve taken better care of me. Par mujhe bola gya ki tu jabardasti injured ho raha hai (But I was told that I was acting injured). I’d lost trust in myself and was feeling low, but Haryana Cricket backed me and invited me to play for them,” Menaria said as quoted by The Indian Express.
Batting first, Haryana gathered a total of 287 runs in the summit clash as Menaria top-scored with a 96-ball 70.
A thoroughly professional effort from their bowlers saw Rajasthan getting bowled for 257 as Haryana lifted their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy title.
