[Saba Sports News] Ex-Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth had a fiery argument during the Legends League Cricket’s Eliminator between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants.
Following the incident, Sreesanth accused Gambhir of calling him a “fixer” in a video. Sreesanth, previously banned for spot-fixing in the IPL, saw his seven-year suspension end in September 2020.
When asked about the altercation, Gambhir chose not to comment. He expressed his focus on supporting young cricketers at a noble event, aiming to provide them with a platform to represent themselves, their families, and their country honorably.
“Dekhiye pehli baat toh mere paas aisaa kuch hai nahi iss cheez mein bolne ke liye. (See, I don’t have anything to say about this thing),” Gambhir shared. “Main yaha par ek nek maqsad se aaya hu, unn yuva khiladiyon ko dekhne aaya hu, unn yuva khiladiyo ko ek platform dene aaya hu ke jo wo apna, apne parivar ka, apne state ka, apne desh ka naam imaandaari se roshan kar sakey, wo mere liye bahut jaroori hai (I have come here for a noble cause, to see young players, to give those young players the platform to make themselves, their family, their state, and their nation proud in an honest manner, that’s very important for me).”
In other news, Gambhir, who previously captained Kolkata Knight Riders, has returned to the team as a mentor after a stint with Lucknow Super Giants. He’s expected to be involved in KKR’s preparations for the IPL 2024 auction on December 19 in Dubai.
