[Saba Sports News] In the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 Eliminator on December 6 in Surat, India Capitals emerged victorious over Gujarat Giants by 12 runs. Post-match, the focus shifted to an incident involving Sreesanth of Gujarat and Gautam Gambhir, captain of the Capitals.
During the first innings, after Gambhir scored several boundaries off Sreesanth, a verbal altercation ensued between them, prompting intervention from other players and umpires. Following the match, Sreesanth released a video on social media alleging that Gambhir used offensive language towards him, repeatedly calling him a “fixer.”
Sreesanth, in his video, claimed that he didn’t retaliate with abusive language and was taken aback by Gambhir’s alleged remarks. “He kept calling me ‘Fixer, fixer, you are a fixer, F*** off fixer’,” Sreesanth stated, describing the exchange.
Additionally, Sreesanth mentioned in his video that Gambhir shows disrespect towards former colleagues, including Virender Sehwag, and often avoids discussing Virat Kohli on cricket shows.
Sreesanth’s wife, Bhuvneshwari, expressed her dismay at the incident on one of his Instagram posts.
She highlighted the importance of upbringing, noting how it reflects in one’s behavior, especially in situations like the one that occurred on the field. “It’s shocking to hear that a player who represented India alongside Sree could behave this way. Upbringing matters a lot, and it’s evident in such behavior. Truly shocking,” Bhuvneshwari commented.
