[Saba Sports News] Recently, La Liga Barcelona star Gavi, who also
represented the Spanish national team, suffered a serious injury in an
unfortunate accident, leading to the premature end of his season. This news
came as a shock and disappointment to Barcelona, particularly because Spain had
already confirmed their place in the European Championship finals. Despite Gavi
having just completed a game, the head coach decided to field him again, resulting
in the teenager’s severe injury and season-ending setback. As a consequence,
Gavi will also miss the upcoming European Championship and Olympic Games.
According to relevant FIFA regulations, the Spanish Football Association and
FIFA will provide compensation to Barcelona, amounting to a substantial sum of
up to 13 million euros. This compensation surpasses Barcelona’s initial
investment in Gavi, considering that the club spent only 3.4 million euros on
signings during the summer transfer window. However, while the financial
compensation may be significant, it cannot fully compensate for the impact of
Gavi’s injury on Barcelona’s lineup. The editor’s opinion is that Gavi’s
playing style makes him prone to injuries, and it is crucial for him to exercise
restraint upon his return to the field in order to minimize the risk of future
injuries.
