[Saba Sports News] Following IPL 2023, MS Dhoni, the iconic cricketer, stated he would return to Chennai Super Kings in the next season only if fully fit. Recently, he revealed he’s recovering from knee surgery but it’s too early to fully assess his condition.
A video on X (formerly Twitter) showed Dhoni struggling to climb down stairs, raising concerns about his readiness for IPL 2024, which is just four months away. His ability to resume practice and wicketkeeping remains in question.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings are reportedly considering releasing Ben Stokes before IPL 2024. Stokes, who underwent knee surgery, was unable to play for most of the last season due to injury. With doubts over his bowling capacity, CSK might opt to release him and look for a replacement in the upcoming auction in Dubai this December.
All franchises must finalize their squads by November 25, indicating more developments are expected soon.
