[Saba Sports News] Before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final between India and Australia, Mohammed Shami’s mother, Anjum Ara, was hospitalized due to serious health issues, including dizziness. Shami, committed to his national cricket duties, rushed back to her side after the match, expressing his concern through a touching Instagram post.
The final match day saw Ara experiencing dizziness, partly attributed to anxiety. Shami’s post on Instagram reflected his deep concern: “You mean so much to me Mum. Hope you’re feeling better very soon.”
India’s World Cup journey, marked by a 10-match winning streak, ended on a less triumphant note in the final. Batting first, India posted a modest total of 240, with key contributions from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul. India’s bowling attack, including Shami’s early strike and Bumrah’s key wickets, initially put Australia under pressure.
However, the course of the game changed dramatically as Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne formed a formidable 192-run partnership, overturning India’s dominance. This partnership was pivotal in Australia’s victory, overshadowing India’s earlier successes and clinching the World Cup title for Australia.
