[Saba Sports News] In November 2020, Lewis Hamilton
clinched his seventh Formula 1 World Championship, equalling the record for the
most driver’s titles held by the legendary Michael Schumacher. At that time,
Toto Wolff, the team principal of Mercedes, made bold statements about striving
for an eighth world championship for Hamilton. However, three years have
passed, and Mercedes’ progress has been less than satisfactory, with Hamilton
missing out on the driver’s championship for three consecutive years. Wolff has
now begun to defend his earlier statements, claiming that they were merely
expressions of “personal frustration.” Serena Williams, the renowned
American tennis player, expressed her dissatisfaction with this and jokingly
remarked in a post that Hamilton should have had nine F1 championship titles by
now. Hamilton and Williams are good friends in real life, and when Williams
retired, Hamilton paid tribute to her in a post, calling her “the greatest
of all time” and stating that there will never be another tennis player
like her.
