[Saba Sports News] Google’s AI tool BARD made contradictory predictions about the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Initially, BARD declared India as the triumphant team, claiming they achieved a 10-wicket victory over Australia by chasing a target of 215 runs in just 28.3 overs. It highlighted Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten century (101*) and KL Rahul’s near-century (97*) as key contributions to India’s purported win.
However, BARD also stated in another response that Australia won the World Cup, overcoming India by chasing a target of 328 runs with seven wickets to spare. These conflicting statements raised concerns over BARD’s accuracy, especially since a win would mean India’s third World Cup title, not the fourth as BARD initially claimed.
The authenticity of AI tools like BARD has been questioned, especially in the context of cricket predictions. Comparisons with other AI models, like Google’s PaLM 2 and PaLM Chat, which showed higher hallucination rates, and GPT-4 with a lower rate, have highlighted ongoing discussions about the reliability and precision of AI in delivering accurate information, particularly in specialized areas like cricket.
