[Saba Sports News] Matthew Le Tissier, a former
Southampton star, expressed strong criticism towards David Beckham for his
participation in an event hosted by Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The event
also included other Premier League players such as Didier Drogba and Michael
Essien. Le Tissier’s comments reflected his discontent, stating, “When I
saw the photo of David Beckham with Bill Gates, it made me sick to my stomach.
David, why did you do this? You are a great player, a very good player, but you
are not world-class. And why would you want to involve yourself in Bill Gates’
affairs? Do you know what that guy has done? But I suppose their circle and
that class are like this.” Le Tissier, who had a long career at
Southampton playing 17 years, making 462 appearances and scoring 209 goals,
including 101 goals in the Premier League, shared his perspective on Beckham’s
actions. It is unclear how fans have responded to Le Tissier’s remarks.
