[Saba Sports News] According to reports from British
media, Manchester United have chosen to collaborate with an American
recruitment company to assist in finding a top football talent scout. The club
has reportedly hired the Los Angeles-based agency, Pace, to screen potential
candidates and act as a scouting resource. Manchester United are said to
acknowledge that they lag behind their local rivals, Manchester City, and
Premier League counterparts, Chelsea, in terms of scouting capabilities.
However, their decision to outsource the search for suitable scouts rather than
relying on their internal staff is an unexpected move. The initial stage of the
interview process also differs, with candidates being interviewed via video and
their responses being analysed. Crystal Palace’s sporting director, Douglas
Friedman, is expected to assume a similar role with Manchester United when Jim
Ratcliffe takes over sporting management at the club. It remains to be seen how
Manchester United fans will react to this development.
