[Saba Sports News] According to Chinese media
reports, due to the increasing international influence of Formula 1 (F1), many
countries aspire to host F1 races. This month, a Grand Prix will be held in
Shanghai, marking the return of F1 to China after several years. The popularity
of F1 in China is evident from the sold-out tickets for last year’s event. In
light of this, China is considering the construction of another F1
international circuit in Guangzhou. The plan includes the development of an
FIA-certified Level 1 track with supporting facilities, as well as the
establishment of an international comprehensive racing sports park around the
circuit. The vast land and abundant resources in China make it apparent that
one track alone is not sufficient to fulfill the country’s potential in
motorsports. Constructing an additional track in a developed city such as
Guangzhou is seen as a positive step. It is expected to generate job
opportunities and stimulate consumption, resulting in a win-win situation for
both F1 and China. The editor supports this decision and also hopes that the
Chinese Grand Prix can become a permanent fixture on the F1 calendar throughout
the year.
