[Saba Sports News] MS Dhoni, the 42-year-old former captain of the Indian cricket team, recently became a social media sensation for his down-to-earth interaction with fans in a village. Dhoni was seen in a village, engaging with local elders and posing for photos, after visiting his ancestral home in Uttarakhand. This heartwarming moment quickly gained traction online.
Accompanied by his wife, Sakshi, Dhoni visited Lwali village in Almora district. Sakshi shared glimpses of their visit on Instagram, noting the abundance of Dhonis in the area. Contrary to expectations of him being at the Wankhede Stadium for India’s ODI World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, Dhoni chose to spend time in Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, Team India marked a historic achievement by reaching their fourth ODI World Cup final. Playing against New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the team showcased a stellar performance. Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill set the pace, followed by centuries from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, leading India to post a score of 397. Despite strong efforts from New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell, Mohammed Shami’s remarkable seven-wicket haul sealed India’s 70-run victory.
