[Saba Sports News] Me’Arah O’Neal, the youngest daughter of NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal, has decided to play college basketball for the University of Florida, bypassing Shaq’s alma mater, LSU.
Reported by Taylor Burr of WCJB in Florida, Me’Arah’s choice involved opting for the Florida Gators over several schools, including SEC rival and defending national champion LSU, where Shaq played from 1989 to 1992.
At 17 years old, Me’Arah, the youngest of Shaq’s four children with his ex-wife Shaunie Nelson, stands 6-foot-4 and plays forward. She is a senior at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas, and ranks 33rd overall in the 2024 recruiting class.
Having garnered attention for her near-dunks at the age of 13, Me’Arah’s basketball skills have notably developed. She is now set to join a rising Florida program led by third-year head coach Kelly Rae Finley.
