[Saba Sports News] Everton have released an obituary
announcing the passing of their club chairman, Bill Kenwright, on the evening
of October 23 at the age of 78. The obituary reveals that Bill Kenwright
underwent surgery to remove a liver cancer tumour eight weeks prior.
Unfortunately, he experienced complications after the operation, leading to his
admission to the ICU. Bill Kenwright was deeply cherished by Everton fans. He
joined the club’s board of directors in 1989 and served as chairman since 2004,
amounting to tenure of 19 years. Under his leadership, Everton achieved
qualification for European competitions on six occasions. In addition to his
involvement with Everton, Bill Kenwright was a renowned theatre and film
producer, having produced over 500 plays, films, and musical albums that have
had successful runs on Broadway and in the UK.
