[Saba Sports News] Former England captain Michael Vaughan has criticized the Pakistan cricket team following their poor start to the T20 World Cup. Babar Azam’s team lost to the USA in their opening match and then suffered a close defeat to India.
The game against the USA highlighted Pakistan’s batting weaknesses, which they repeated against India, jeopardizing their chances of making it to the Super 8.
Vaughan, known for his bold statements, suggested that Pakistan should reappoint Shaheen Afridi as captain. “I think they need to go back to Shaheen. Clearly, they are a better team when they’re juggling the captaincy,” said Vaughan on the Club Prairie Fire podcast.
Shaheen was made Pakistan’s T20I captain last year after Babar Azam stepped down post-ODI World Cup. However, with the change in PCB management, Babar was reinstated as captain. When asked if the sacking should happen mid-match, Vaughan quipped that Pakistan is the only team capable of such a move.
