[Saba Sports News] The past four days have been thrilling for the Indian team and their supporters. From nearly facing defeat in the final to an exciting five-over phase that turned the tide, India ended their 11-year ICC trophy drought with a memorable victory. The joyous scenes and unforgettable moments have made this week special.
However, Hurricane Beryl caused a delay in the team’s return from the Caribbean after their month-long stay. Encouraging news for Mumbai fans is that, after a morning meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, plans are underway for a grand celebration. The team will then fly to Mumbai for a celebratory parade on Marine Drive that evening.
Former Mumbai Indians captain and hometown hero Rohit Sharma invited Mumbai residents via Twitter to join the celebration. The parade will take place on an open bus along Marine Drive, known as the Queen’s Necklace, and at the Wankhede Stadium from 5 pm onwards. This venue holds special significance as the site of India’s last 50-over World Cup win in 2011.
