[Saba Sports News] England secured their second straight win against the West Indies, dominating the second Test with a 241-run victory. After winning the first Test decisively, England continued their exceptional form.
Following the match, England’s vice-captain, Ollie Pope, joked about how keeping Ben Stokes off the field helped England take some wickets. The West Indies were set a target of 385 runs in the second innings but were bowled out for 143 by England’s formidable bowling attack.
Pope, who top-scored for England with 121 in the first innings and added 51 in the second, quipped, “Stokes snuck off and we got a couple of wickets. I was keen to keep him out a little longer then.”
He praised the team’s performance, noting the changing conditions and the impressive efforts of Brook and Root.
As the West Indies attempted to chase down the target, England’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance. Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed for 47, Mikyle Louis for 17, Jason Holder for 37, and Joshua Da Silva added 14 runs. The rest of the batting lineup struggled.
England’s Shoaib Bashir was the standout bowler in the second innings, taking five wickets. Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes each claimed two wickets, while Mark Wood took one, sealing England’s 241-run victory.
