[Saba Sports News] Hollywood stars are turning their attention to The Hundred League as the 100-ball format gains popularity in the West.
Notable names like Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, and the Glazer family are reportedly considering involvement.
NFL legend Tom Brady has also shown interest. These developments follow the England Cricket Board’s invitation to investors to stake in the teams.
Former England pacer Stuart Broad has also expressed interest in investing in the league.
The ECB has approached all ten Indian Premier League team owners and NFL owners, hoping to capitalize on the recent T20 World Cup buzz co-hosted by the USA.
“Nottinghamshire is a club I’ve represented for a long time, so any opportunity to be around Nottingham and this ground interests me. Private investment is the natural next step to grow the game,” Broad shared.
“You can see the impact of the IPL on Indian cricket. Ultimately, these tournaments aim to improve the international team’s quality, ensuring successful men’s and women’s teams for England,” he added.
For context, Nottinghamshire honored Stuart Broad by naming a stand after him at Trent Bridge. The star pacer, with 604 wickets, is the second-highest wicket-taker for a pacer after James Anderson.
Broad was also conferred with the honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in King Charles’ New Year’s honors.
