[Saba Sports News] In a world where imitation thrives and creativity is ever-present, sports are no exception. This trend extends to e-sports, where athletes have widely replicated the Fortnite Dance from the popular online multiplayer game.
Recently, Free Fire, a game similar to Fortnite launched in December 2017, introduced an emote inspired by T20 World Cup 2024-winning captain Rohit Sharma’s iconic post-match celebration.
In this celebrated moment, Rohit made a stylish entrance to the podium after receiving the trophy from ICC chairperson Greg Barclay, lifting the trophy with dramatic flair and sparking exuberant celebrations with his team.
This memorable celebration has been immortalized in the game as the “Champion’s Walk” emote, available for select characters.
This isn’t the first time a sports figure has performed such a celebration. Football icon Lionel Messi was first seen executing a similar slow-walk celebration after Argentina’s dramatic victory over France in the FIFA World Cup 2022, where Messi was named Player of the Tournament.
Messi replicated the gesture again following Argentina’s triumph in the Copa America, securing their 16th title with a 1-0 win against Colombia less than a fortnight ago.
