[Saba Sports News] Sachin Tendulkar celebrated International Left-Handers Day by wishing his cricketing colleagues and sharing a video of himself batting and bowling left-handed.
The right-handed cricket legend marked the occasion by showcasing his ambidextrous skills. For those unaware, Tendulkar writes and eats with his left hand but played cricket with his right.
He has shared that he initially favored his left hand as a child but switched to right-handed batting due to using gear made for his right-handed older brother.
In his post, Sachin wrote, “This one is for my left-handed friends…Happy #InternationalLeftHandersDay!”
Despite left-handers making up only 7-10% of the global population, around 20% of cricketers are lefties, including legends like Brian Lara, Matthew Hayden, and Yuvraj Singh.
While left-handedness has gained more acceptance over the years, it is still considered taboo in some cultures and remote areas.
