[Saba Sports News] Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains the top-ranked ODI batter in the ICC rankings, but Rohit Sharma has climbed to the second spot after a strong performance in India’s ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Despite India losing the series 0-2, Rohit stood out, finishing as the leading run-scorer with 157 runs at an average of 52.33 and a strike rate of 141.44.
Shubman Gill dropped to third after scoring just 57 runs in the series, while Virat Kohli slipped to fourth with 58 runs. Pathum Nissanka moved up to No. 8 after scoring 101 runs, while Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis also saw gains in their rankings.
Rohit now has 765 points, trailing Babar’s 824. On the bowling side, Dunith Wellalage jumped 17 spots to No. 59 after his five-wicket haul in the third ODI.
In Test cricket, South Africa’s Temba Bavuma moved up to 16th in the batters’ rankings after a strong performance in the first Test against the West Indies.
Keshav Maharaj, who took eight wickets in the match, climbed seven spots to joint 21st in the Test bowlers’ rankings.
