[Saba Sports News] Reports indicate that Australian all-rounder Cameron Green will miss at least the first Test of the upcoming series against India, which begins with the West Test at Perth’s Optus Stadium on November 22, 2024.
According to reports, Green, 25, is currently training with the team at the WACA but is not part of the XI facing Queensland, having undergone scans last week after returning from Australia’s white-ball tour of England.
He was also rested during the final T20I and second ODI to manage his workload after bowling in all six games in the UK.
Green was replaced by Adam Zampa in the fourth ODI after experiencing back soreness, raising concerns about his availability.
While his status for the rest of the series remains uncertain, he is nearly confirmed to miss the first Test to allow time for recovery. Australia’s bowling strategy without Green will be closely watched, especially since Mitchell Marsh has not bowled in WA’s ongoing match despite Green’s absence.
This could increase the workload on Nathan Lyon and Australia’s main pace trio, as they look to manage the five-match series effectively.
