[Saba Sports News] Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies, starting October 14.
Charith Asalanka will lead the team, with the notable return of left-handed batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who hasn’t played for Sri Lanka in over a year.
Rajapaksa, a key player in the 2022 Asia Cup win, last appeared in a T20I against India in January 2023 and recently played in the Caribbean Premier League, though his performance there was modest.
Meanwhile, former captain Dasun Shanaka has been dropped after three consecutive ducks in his recent T20I outings, and left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka is also out, having not played since suffering a hamstring injury in July.
