[Saba Sports News] Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh have been omitted from Australia’s 14-man squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan at home, as both have been granted paternity leave.
This opens up opportunities for young Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short, the latter impressing during the recent UK tour in white-ball formats.
The series also marks the return of Pat Cummins, reuniting with pace partners Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc for the first time since their ODI World Cup win in 2023.
With Cameron Green sidelined due to a back stress fracture, Marcus Stoinis is back, competing with Aaron Hardie, who had a standout UK tour.
The rest of the squad remains unchanged from the England series, starting at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 4, followed by matches at Adelaide Oval (November 8) and Optus Stadium (November 10).
