The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly denied receiving an official proposal from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the Champions Trophy 2025. Speculation continues around India's participation, as the Indian government has yet to confirm whether the team will travel to Pakistan. Media reports suggested that the PCB proposed a plan for the Indian team to return to Delhi or Chandigarh after each match due to security concerns. However, according to a report by Dainik Jagran, a BCCI insider clarified that no such proposal has been received from the PCB, and the decision rests solely with the Indian government. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series in over a decade due to political tensions, only meeting in international tournaments. Pakistan visited India for the 2016 T20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup, but India refused to travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup, resulting in India’s matches being held in Sri Lanka. Reports indicate that the PCB is prepared for India's possible refusal to travel for the Champions Trophy but remains firm on hosting the final in Lahore, even if India qualifies for the match on March 9. The PCB’s stance will be discussed during the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meeting in Dubai from October 18 to 21. While the PCB's priority is to host the entire tournament in Pakistan, they are mentally prepared for the possibility of India’s matches being moved to the UAE. The BCCI may also propose a hybrid model, similar to the 2023 Asia Cup, where games were relocated to Sri Lanka or Dubai. - SabaSports - खेल की दुनिया में आपका पेशेवर साथी
