[Saba Sports News] Pakistan fast-bowler Aamer Jamal grabbed headlines while making his Test debut in the first match of the ongoing series against Australia.
After opting to bat first, Australia made a mockery of Pakistan’s inexperienced bowling line-up, dismantling them to the core in Perth.
Opener David Warner scored 164 runs, while Mitchell Marsh played a quick fire 90-run knock to take Australia to a total of 487 runs in the first innings.
Australia’s humongous score could have been much more had debutant Jamal not taken a six-for. Jamal claimed six wickets for 111 runs, attaining the sixth-best bowling figures by a Pakistani bowler on his Test debut.
The 27-year-old became the 14th cricketer from Pakistan to bag a five-wicket haul on his debut Test match.
The Day 2 of the fixture ended with Pakistan at 132/2, trailing by 355 runs. Imam-ul-Haq and Khurram Shahzad are unbeaten at 38 and seven runs respectively.
