[Saba Sports News] Team India had a field day in Rajkot. After Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered his second double hundred in the series, giving England a target of 457 runs, Indian bowlers bundled the visitors under 40 overs.
Ravindra Jadeja, who had scored a century in the first innings of the Test match, bagged a fifer in the second innings as England skittled for 122, losing by 434 runs.
The magnitude of this win can be known from the fact that this is India’s biggest ever Test victory by margin of runs. Earlier, India’s 372-run win over New Zealand in 2021 at Mumbai held this record.
Also, this is now England’s second-biggest defeat in terms of runs. The Three Lions had lost to Australia by 562 runs in 1934, which still ranks highest in this list.
The next Test match of the ongoing series will commence on February 23 in Ranchi.
