[Saba Sports News] India won the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29, defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Every player contributed to India’s triumph throughout the tournament. Rishabh Pant, who returned to the national side after recovering from a car accident, played a pivotal role. After the game, Pant shared a picture on Instagram, wearing the winner’s medal.
As Pant’s post gained traction, Axar Patel cheekily commented, “Bhai same mere pass bhi hai. (Brother, I also have the same medal).” Axar played crucial innings against Pakistan and South Africa in the final and took three wickets in the semifinal against England. Pant performed well in the group stages but struggled in the knockouts. Mohammed Siraj also joined in, commenting, “Bhai mere pass bhi hai same (Brother, I too have the same one).”
The Indian team arrived in Delhi on July 4 and stayed at the ITC Maurya Hotel. They met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before leaving for Mumbai for the victory parade. The team traveled from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, greeted by enthusiastic fans.
India captain Rohit Sharma informed fans about the victory parade on social media. Notably, a similar parade was organized on Mumbai’s Marine Drive when India won their first T20 World Cup in 2007.
