[Saba Sports News] A formal complaint has been filed with the BCCI against legendary cricketer MS Dhoni by Rajesh Kumar Maurya, a resident of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, under Rule 39 of the BCCI Ethics Committee.
The complaint is linked to an ongoing INR 15 crore dispute between Dhoni and his former business partner, Mihir Diwakar, involving Aarka Sports Management, which operated cricket academies under Dhoni’s name.
The BCCI has now requested an official response from Dhoni by August 30, while Maurya has until September 16 to reply to Dhoni’s response, according to DNA.
The case, filed against Mihir Diwakar in the Ranchi Civil Court, involves fraud allegations against Diwakar, Soumya Das, and Aarka Sports, all of whom were associated with Dhoni. On March 20, 2024, the local civil court found the case credible and summoned the accused.
Dhoni’s side claims that Diwakar breached their agreement, continuing to use Dhoni’s name after the contract ended in 2021 and failing to provide the agreed-upon profits. This alleged violation resulted in a loss of INR 15 crore for Dhoni.
Further statements and developments from both parties are awaited, and the BCCI has also asked Maurya to submit his response.
