[Saba Sports News] Numerous reputable
international media outlets have reported that, in order to meet the objective
of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics
aim to halve the carbon dioxide emissions compared to the 2012 London and 2016
Rio Olympics. As part of this effort, the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee
plans to forgo the installation of air conditioning units in the athletes’
village. Euronews has predicted that Paris may experience a prolonged heatwave
during the summer Olympics, potentially even breaking historical temperature
records. In light of these circumstances, the Chinese delegation, including the
badminton team, plans to bring their own portable air conditioners during the
Paris Olympics. Some fans have expressed the view that creating a warm and
comfortable training and competition environment is crucial for players to
achieve optimal results, especially in physically demanding sports like
badminton. Therefore, implementing cooling measures becomes essential to
prevent athletes from suffering heatstroke. It is evident that the Paris
Olympics poses an unprecedented challenge for all badminton players.
