On the opening day of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi, the unrelenting rain prevented any play, not even the toss. Despite the rain continuing, the umpires conducted an inspection at midday and decided to cancel the game for the day. The teams hadn’t even left their hotel because the odds of winning were so slim.
More rain is predicted for later in the day, and clouds are predicted to hang over the sky for much of tomorrow. The teams were forced to postpone their practice sessions until Thursday due to inclement weather.
Bangladesh won their first Test match against Pakistan the previous time around, and now they lead the two-match series 1-0. While fielding an all-pace attack at the time, Pakistan this time included legspinner Abrar Ahmed in their XII. Taskin Ahmed is anticipated to replace fellow fast bowler Nahid Rana for Bangladesh, given his fitness. However, we will not be able to see the playing XIs until Saturday morning at the latest.
This Test was originally scheduled to take place in Karachi, but due to ongoing work at the National Stadium, the PCB decided to move it to Rawalpindi.
