[Saba Sports News] Indian all-rounder Deepak Chahar’s father, Lokendra Singh Chahar, recently suffered a brain stroke and is currently hospitalized at Mithraj Hospital in Aligarh. Deepak Chahar was absent from the fifth T20I against Australia in Bengaluru on December 03, as he had to rush home due to this family emergency. Lokendra, who is diabetic and suffers from hypertension, experienced the stroke while attending a wedding in Aligarh. Deepak, informed of his father’s condition on December 02, quickly traveled from Bengaluru to Delhi, and then by road to Aligarh.
Lokendra’s health has shown little improvement, and the family is considering moving him to a hospital in Delhi or Agra for better treatment. He is currently in a critical condition in the ICU.
Deepak Chahar recently played in the fourth T20I against Australia, contributing to India’s series win. This marked his return to international cricket after a year’s absence, following his last appearance in December 2022.
Chahar, who had been recovering from an injury sustained during IPL 2023, has played 13 ODIs and 25 T20Is since his international debut in July 2018. He has 16 wickets in ODIs and 31 in T20Is, including two ODI half-centuries, one of which was a crucial 69* against Sri Lanka in July 2021.
