[Saba Sports News] Delhi Capitals’ retention list for IPL 2025 saw skipper Rishabh Pant released, making headlines. On October 31, DC retained India’s Axar Patel, spinner Kuldeep Yadav, South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs, and uncapped wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel.
Team Chairman Kiran Kumar Grandhi expressed confidence in their core, saying they’re building a strong squad for the mega auction.
The retained players cost DC INR 43.75 crore, leaving them with INR 120 crore and two RTM cards, allowing a possible re-purchase of Pant or other released players.
Pant returned to lead in IPL 2024, scoring 446 runs, but DC missed the playoffs. Co-owner Parth Jindal highlighted the experience and youth in their retentions and aims to retain former DC players using RTM cards in the auction.
Recently, Hemang Badani and Venugopal Rao joined as head coach and director of cricket, while Sourav Ganguly was appointed director of cricket for JSW Sports.
