[Saba Sports News] Before the start of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 in March, CEO Raman Raheja expressed his desire to have MS Dhoni join the league in an interview. He even mentioned the possibility of future participation from cricket stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
During the LLC 2023/24 edition’s final match in Ranchi, Raheja hinted at Dhoni’s potential involvement in the league. While former Indian cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, and Suresh Raina have participated, Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, hasn’t joined due to his commitment to the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). As per BCCI rules, he’s ineligible for LLC while active in the IPL.
Raheja’s keen interest in Dhoni’s participation was evident when he was seen conversing with the cricket icon in Ranchi. He later shared a post on social media platform X, reflecting on the successful event in Ranchi and his interaction with Dhoni.
The post read: “Good start is half the battle won. We @llct20 came to Ranchi on a mission. Not just won hearts of thousands of fans but met the “Legend” in his town. Just Honoured!! It’s time to scale up and move ahead. #LegendsLeagueCricket #msdhoni.” This interaction has sparked speculation about Dhoni’s future involvement in the LLC, contingent on his retirement from the IPL.
