[Saba Sports News] Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors forward, faces another controversy following a recent altercation. The four-time NBA champion was indefinitely suspended by the NBA on Wednesday for an aggressive action against Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic, leading to his ejection from their recent game.
In a conversation with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne prior to this incident, Green reflected on his first suspension of the season for a chokehold on Rudy Gobert. He acknowledged, upon reviewing the footage, his surprise at the duration of the chokehold.
Green noted, “When I saw the replay, I was shocked at how long I held on. In those intense moments, time perception can be distorted.”
This admission, made just a week before his altercation with Nurkic, adds a disturbing layer to Green’s pattern of behavior. His failure to grasp the severity of his actions in the moment resurfaced in the incident with Nurkic.
Despite asserting that his strike on Nurkic was accidental and an attempt to draw a foul, the force used suggested otherwise. Green offered an apology to Nurkic but maintained the unintentional nature of the hit.
Green also expressed to Shelburne his awareness of the negative impact his absences have on the Warriors. He recognized the need to control his actions to avoid further suspensions, yet the recent event proved otherwise.
This latest suspension marks Green’s fourth in just the past two seasons, highlighting a continuing issue with on-court conduct.
