[Saba Sports News] Michigan State alum Draymond Green shows strong allegiance to his Spartan peers, sometimes controversially so. The Golden State Warriors standout faced criticism for his unwavering support of Charlotte Hornets player Miles Bridges after a late-game altercation during the Warriors’ 97-84 victory against the Hornets.
Despite both Bridges and teammate Grant Williams facing penalties for the clash, Green condemned Williams but exonerated Bridges, declaring, “Miles can do no wrong” in his view.
“Being close with Miles, I see him as a younger brother. I’m not going to harshly criticize him. To me, Miles is beyond reproach,” Green expressed in his postgame comments.
This support comes amidst Bridges serving a three-year probation due to accusations of violence against the mother of his children. While Green’s refusal to fault Bridges for the game dispute is one thing, his lavish praise has led some fans to suggest he’s overlooking more serious issues.
