[Saba Sports News] Azam Khan has performed well in various franchise leagues but has struggled in international cricket. His poor form continued on May 30 as Pakistan lost the fourth T20I against England by seven wickets at Kennington Oval, London. Pakistan needed a win to square the four-match series after losing the second T20I, with the first and third matches abandoned due to weather.
Azam, who scored 11 runs off 10 balls in the second T20I, was dismissed for a five-ball duck by Mark Wood. Additionally, he dropped a couple of straightforward chances while fielding, drawing criticism from fans on social media. Despite his struggles, Azam has been named in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, heading into the tournament with just 88 runs in 12 innings at an average of 9.78.
In the fourth T20I, Pakistan were bowled out for 157 after scoring 59 runs for one wicket in the powerplay. Usman Khan top-scored with 38 off 21 balls, while captain Babar Azam added 36 off 22 balls. England’s openers, Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, started strongly, scoring 78 runs in the powerplay.
Buttler and Harry Brook finished the match with 27 balls and seven wickets to spare, with Haris Rauf taking all three Pakistani wickets. Adil Rashid was named Player of the Match for his 2/27 in four overs, while Buttler was named Player of the Series, finishing as the leading run-scorer with 123 runs from two games.
