[Saba Sports News] Red Bull Racing is currently
facing internal turmoil. With the recent scandal involving team leader
Christian Horner, internal conflicts within the team have escalated. Management
differences and the retention of championship drivers have presented
unprecedented challenges for the former powerhouse in the world of racing.
Yesterday, Italy’s Corriere della Sera reported that due to the seemingly
irreparable internal issues at Red Bull Racing, Ferrari sees this as the
opportune moment to pursue legendary engineer Adrian Newey and is exploring the
possibility of contacting him. Ferrari has made several attempts to approach
Newey in the past but has always been met with closed doors, despite offering high
annual salaries. As far back as the 1990s, Newey rejected an invitation from
Ferrari due to his desire to remain in the United Kingdom. In the editor’s
opinion, Ferrari holds more appeal than Red Bull Racing in three aspects: the
allure of the Ferrari brand, additional projects such as road supercars,
endurance races, and boat racing, which align with Newey’s interests, and a
more flexible chain of command structure. Some fans consider Newey the foremost
authority in F1 car aerodynamics, earning him the title of “legendary car
design master in F1.” If he were to join the Ferrari team, it could
greatly contribute to Ferrari’s quest to regain the F1 world championship.
