[Saba Sports News] In early February, the Ferrari
F1 team made headlines by announcing their intention to sign seven-time
champion Lewis Hamilton in 2025, which led to a significant increase in
Ferrari’s stock price. As the story unfolds, recent reports from various media
outlets reveal that Ferrari’s ambitions extend beyond securing a
championship-level driver. The team plans to enter into a contract with
esteemed British aerodynamics master, Adrian Newey, for the fourth time.
Ferrari has always been known as the most audacious top team in the F1 arena,
unafraid to spend money as they see fit. This is evident in their pursuit of
Hamilton, who is approaching 40 years of age, with a lucrative contract offer.
In their efforts to bring Newey on board, Ferrari went as far as visiting his
thatched cottage on three occasions. To the extent that the question “Do
you regret declining Ferrari’s invitations multiple times?” has become a
common opening line in informal interviews with Newey. Some automotive
enthusiasts have noted that during their discussions with Newey, Ferrari not
only promised to establish an office close to his current location but also
pledged deep involvement in the research and development of road-going
supercars. Essentially, Ferrari aims to address the previous rejection reason
of “lifestyle preferences” by offering favorable conditions, while
also seeking to provide Newey with more significant opportunities for
performance.
