Sports News] According to British media reports, Ryan Giggs, the former
Manchester United star, is still unable to be inducted into the Premier League
Hall of Fame, despite being found not guilty. The latest list of inductees was
announced by the Premier League Hall of Fame, and Ashley Cole was selected.
Despite Giggs being the player with the most Premier League titles (13 times)
and the record holder for assists (162 times), he has been overlooked for the
fourth consecutive year. In November 2020, Giggs faced allegations of domestic
violence against his ex-girlfriend. The charges were dropped by prosecutors in
July of the following year, and Giggs was subsequently found not guilty of
domestic violence. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Giggs had taken on
the role of director at Salford City Football Club, marking his return to
football after being cleared of the abuse charges. While Giggs has been cleared
of the charges, his exclusion from the Premier League Hall of Fame raises questions
about whether he is permanently blacklisted from the honor. The Premier League
has declined to comment on Giggs’s case.
