Sports News] According to the information from FormulaPassion.IT, there seems
to be an internal power struggle at Red Bull Racing, which started when team
principal Christian Horner attempted to acquire part or all of the team’s
shares with the help of British financiers. In 2023, Horner met with Red Bull Beverage
Group chairman Chalerm Yoovidhya and presented an offer from the British
financier to lead the acquisition of the team. However, when the Austrian
headquarters of Red Bull learned about this attempt, they disapproved of the
proposal. This indicates that the rift between Horner and the Austrian
headquarters existed prior to the recent scandal involving Horner’s leaked
private messages. According to a follow-up report by Motorsport-Total, on
February 2 of this year, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff decided to dismiss
Horner, and an official press release had been prepared at that time. However,
Horner refused to accept the dismissal and sought legal intervention to
challenge its legality. Some fans speculate that due to the difficulty of
firing Horner through normal channels, the Austrian Red Bull headquarters may
have resorted to using the scandal to remove Horner from his position.
