[Saba Sports News] India batter Rinku Singh has recently become the talk of the town following his stellar performance in international cricket, particularly in the T20I match against Australia at Visakhapatnam. The southpaw played a crucial role in steering India to victory, remaining unbeaten with a score of 22.
Rinku’s impactful innings has not only caught the attention of fans but also sparked discussions about his potential inclusion in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to be hosted jointly by the West Indies and the USA next year. As he establishes himself as a genuine finisher, Indian selectors might find it hard to ignore his contributions.
Expressing his readiness to represent the country on the global stage, Rinku stated, “Yes. I am ready. I don’t think much about the future. If I get the chance, I will surely grab it and do well. Be it any format or anywhere in the world, if I get the chance I will give my hundred percent.”
Hailing from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rinku takes pride in being the only male cricketer from his hometown to have played in both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the national team. For him, the prospect of being selected for the World Cup is monumental.
“It will be a big big thing for me. I am the only male cricketer from Aligarh to play in IPL and India as well. This is a huge thing for me. Every cricketer’s dream is to play for India and represent the country in the World Cup. I am also living this dream,” he added.
At 26 years old, Rinku is not just resting on his laurels but also putting in the hard work required to secure a spot in the T20 World Cup squad.
“I don’t know how I will react when I see my name in the World Cup squad. But I will wait for that day. I am really working hard towards that goal,” he concluded.
In his six T20I matches for India since his debut, the youngster has amassed 97 runs in three innings with an impressive average of 97 and a striking strike rate of 194.
